ADM has completed a number of UK applications using the Mitsubishi RP1AH high speed assembly robot. The robot shown here is used to unload small plastic gearboxes used in vertical louvre blinds into plastic pallets prior to packaging. The flexibility and speed of the robots allows efficient unloading of a variety of product types without tooling changes.

The RP1AH robot has a phenomenal performance capable of performing pick and place operations at up to 4 times per second with a repeatability of 5 microns. The high precision is achieved through an innovative double arm arrangement giving an extremely stiff yet compact mechanism. Three versions of the arm are available. The RP1AH, the smallest, has a work envelope the size of a sheet of A6 paper.
